Panopto training

As you have heard, Panopto is our new lecture capture provider.  Livia and I are putting together trainings for you to begin on Tuesday, June 10, through finals week, into Summer and beyond!

The finals week trainings will cover the basics – how to access your “already downloaded” Tegrity recordings in Panopto, how to link/add these to your Canvas classes for Summer and Fall quarter and how to make a simple recording in Panopto.  We had hoped to come to you for these trainings, but all of the smart classrooms are booked for finals. We are in the 1200 building on Tuesday and then in the PUB for the remainder of that week.  We realize you are off contract after June 13 but we will still have two trainings in a computer lab on June 17 & 19 for those interested in “hands on” practice before Summer Quarter begins.

Here’s the schedule:

Bring a laptop to practice on if you want.

  • Tuesday June 10, 2:00-3:00pm, Room 1208
  • Wednesday, June 11, 10:00-11:00am, Room 9201
  • Thursday, June 12, 12:00-1:00pm, Room 9201
  • Friday, June 13, 2:00-3:00pm, Room 9201

Hands on Training in the Computer Lab – Canvas questions welcome too!

  • Tuesday, June 17 11:00-12:00pm, Room 1301
  • Thursday, June 19 12:00-1:00pm, Room 1301

Let us know if these dates and times don’t work for your schedule and we can arrange one-on-one training for another time.

Hope to see you there!

Bricks Of Support

frontcolumnNOTHING IS AS FAR AWAY AS ONE MINUTE AGO – JIM BISHOP

… a fine example of a saying that could be engraved on a brick.  More importantly, a notice that time is running out. You don’t want to wake up one morning next month and say, “I wish I had ordered a brick.”

Get your order in by the July 15 deadline to have you own engraved brick be included on one of the columns outside the Shoreline Library/Media/Technology Center.  Your brick can be engraved with your favorite saying, be in honor of a special event or in honor or memory of a special person in your life. Order forms can be found on the Foundation website or in the Foundation office in the 1000 (Administration Building), room 1005.

ORCA cards

Hello bus riders of Shoreline,

It’s that time of year again! Subsidized ORCA cards for the Summer Quarter will be going on sale this week on Thursday, June 19 and will continue until they are all gone.

Cards cost $100 and are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The card is active between June 23 (start of the quarter) through August 14 (last day of finals).

This is a great opportunity to purchase cards, which your student fees subsidize in order to assist students transporting to and from school.

Cards will be sold in the 5000 (FOSS) building, at the Cashiers’ desk. You will need to sign the ORCA card agreement form, available at the Cashiers desk.

*The SCOF fee that you pay at the beginning of each quarter is what makes this program available, so be sure to come and take advantage of it!

If you have any questions please contact the Minister of Finance at StudentFinance@shoreline.edu.
