Where will you be at 10:15 on 10/15 for the Great Washington Shakeout?
Wherever you are, Shoreline Community College will be sending a test message as part the college’s participation in this statewide earthquake preparedness awareness effort. The Great Washington Shakeout is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on October 15 as part of a national program.
At Shoreline, college officials suggest three things to get ready for the Great Washington Shakeout:
- Make sure you get the message
- Go to https://www.shoreline.edu/Connect to add phone numbers, additional email accounts to you message preferences
- Read the plan
- Go to http://www.shoreline.edu/safetyandsecurity/emergency-preparedness.aspx to see Shoreline’s emergency preparedness information and the Emergency Management Response plan
- Do the drill at 10:15 on 10/15
- If it is appropriate for where you are:
- DROP to the ground
- Take COVER by getting under a sturdy desk or table
- If it is appropriate for where you are:
- HOLD ON to it until the shaking stops
In addition, demonstrations of Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) and Stryker evacuation chairs will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, in the lobby of the gym.
