Free MOOC “Celebrating Food & Wellness Around the Globe” starts July 11

Food & Wellness MOOC
Shoreline Nutrition Faculty, Alison Leahy, MS RD and Amy Rovner, MPH RD, are offering their free, online NO CREDIT course again this summer: Celebrating Food & Wellness Around the Globe. Last year they had a phenomenal group of 1,300 students from over 50 countries!

Please join the course this summer. You can spend as much or as little time as your summer schedules allow.

• Course description:  Food is such an important part of everyone’s everyday lives.  We want to celebrate the nutrition, health, and well-being that it can provide.  We are going to travel around the globe, exploring what foods have shown to be keeping people healthy, often for generations.  Then we will experiment in our kitchens to include these great foods in our recipes, meals, and lifestyles.

• Starts Monday, July 11 and runs for 6 weeks.

• You can sign up here – http://www.shoreline.edu/globalfood

Meet Shoreline’s new goat team!

Meet our new friends – the goat team!

goats1goats2
Shoreline has enlisted the help of some furry friends to help get the blackberry bushes, Scotch broom, and other invasive plant species over by the track in check! Our goat team will be here every Tuesday through August 9, with some possible additional days depending on “processing” time. Head on over on your lunch break and say hello! They’re fenced in and safe to observe.

Fourth of July message from President Roberts

Dear Colleague,

As we prepare for the 4th of July weekend, let’s take time to celebrate the vision of an America we have the opportunity to realize. It’s a day that reminds us of what we strive to be as a people and as a nation. So, as you celebrate with family and friends, appreciate good food and fireworks that make your spirit soar.

Enjoy!
Cheryl
