Campuswide Earthquake Drill on 10/20/16
Where will you be at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday? Join us for the Great Washington Shakeout!
All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to “drop, cover, and hold” wherever you are on campus at 10:20 a.m. On Thursday, October 20, 2016. Here’s what to do:
- Shoreline Community College will send a Rave Alert test message the morning of the Great Shakeout to remind you to participate at 10:20 a.m. (You can update your communication preferences here.)
- Faculty members: Please plan to devote 5 minutes of class to this statewide drill at 10:20 a.m. And encourage your students to take part in it.
- At 10:20 a.m., drop to the ground, take cover under a sturdy desk or table, and hold on for 30 seconds. Then remind your friends and colleagues to review Shoreline’s emergency plan to be prepared in the event of a real earthquake.
- From 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the PUB lobby, please stop by for a special demonstration by Safety & Security of our Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) and Stryker evacuation chairs.
