Shoreline vocal music students take top prizes in regional competition

Several Shoreline Community College vocal music students were recently awarded top prizes at the Puget Sound Student Adjudications of the National Association of Teachers of Singing: Puget Sound region. The competition was held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Seattle Pacific University.

  • Trevor Eaden received First Place in the lower college men’s division. This is the second time he has received this award while studying voice with Fred Lokken.
  • In the lower college women’s division, Clara Todd was awarded First Place, Kehla Grow was awarded Second Place, and Kia Burt received Honorable Mention. All three students are studying voice with Meg Stecker-Thorsen.
  • Gloria Tzuang received Honorable Mention in the Classical Avocational 2 division. She is also studying voice with Meg Stecker-Thorsen.

Trevor and Clara received a cash prize for their accomplishment and, along with Kehla Grow, they have the opportunity to compete in the regional adjudications taking place next quarter. This marks the fourth year in a row, and the fifth out of the past six years, that one or more Shoreline Community College students received First Place awards in their respective categories. Congratulations to our awarded students and to all of the Shoreline Community College participants.
