At Shoreline Community College, a high priority is placed on creating a welcoming campus experience that provides support for students in attaining their goals. Our Welcome Desk staff play a crucial role in serving current students, prospective students, and community members as they navigate the campus and Shoreline’s resources.
Welcome Desk Locations:
• 1000 building, also the campus switchboard
• 5000 building (FOSS) near Enrollment Services, 2nd level
• 9000 building (PUB), 2nd level
The Welcome Desk employees are Mary Sheaffer, Richard Le, Fanaye Ashagari, Babe Mencero, Terrance Bishop, Dana Rates, and Amalea Ryckman.
Previously, these desks and their employees were part of three different departments. As of July, Pollie McCloskey, Executive Assistant for Student Learning & Success, leads and supervises the Welcome Desk Team. This shift allows for more clarity, consistency, and collaboration among this team that provides such a key role in creating student success and community engagement.
