Message from President Roberts: Statement on Anti-Asian Racism & Hate Crimes

Dear Colleague,

Shoreline Community College unequivocally denounces the rise in anti-Asian racism, discrimination, and hate crimes in many communities across the nation. We join with all Washington community and technical colleges to stand in solidarity with our Asian Americans and Pacific Islander students, employees, friends, family members, and neighbors, and we affirm our commitment to their safety and well-being.

Shoreline’s ongoing pledge to uphold an inclusive and equitable campus environment is reflected in our College Community Standard Statement.

If you or someone you know at the College may benefit from emotional or mental support, please know students may access free counseling at the Counseling Center (206-546-4594) and employees may access services through our Employee Assistance Program (877-313-4455). Additionally, I’d like to remind everyone about our Bias Incident Report Form

At a time when we are all facing multiple personal, political, social, economic, and health stresses in our lives, it is even more critical for us to come together, not to divide and demean.

Cheryl Roberts, Ed.D.
