Updates to Fall Student Vaccination Requirements & In-Person Student Services

Dear Shoreline Staff,

Classes will start on September 29, 2021 with up to 25% of classes with in-person components. As we move closer to the beginning of fall quarter, we want to ensure that students, faculty, and staff are supported and are kept abreast of the most recent plans.

Student Vaccination Attestation

  • In-person or on-campus students coming to the College for courses and/or ANY activities or services during fall quarter are required to be fully vaccinated or claim a valid medical or religious exemption by October 18, 2021. Please note that any activity or service sought in person would necessitate this requirement.
  • Fully online students who will not enter the campus in fall quarter are not required to claim their vaccination status or submit an exemption.

Students participating in in-person/hybrid courses or services who do not submit an attestation or have an approved exemption by Oct. 18 will have a registration hold applied to their records. Additionally, students who submit false statements for the purpose of attestation or exemptions may be subject to disciplinary action.

Core In-Person Services

To help students be as successful as possible this fall quarter, Shoreline is transitioning some of its student services and operations back to campus. While all services remain available by phone, email, and video appointment, the following offices will also offer in-person hours for students and the public beginning on 9/13/21:

  • Faculty teaching in-person on campus do not need to request permission to come to campus.
  • Social distancing is no longer mandated. Please take down any social distancing signage in your office area. No office on campus is authorized to require social distancing.
  • The Campus Check In/Out process has been discontinued as of September 7. Contract tracing will follow CDC guidelines.
  • See HR’s recent message to employees on the process for vaccine attestation or requests for exemption.

As we prepare the campus to welcome students back for a phased in-person return, we wanted to express our appreciation both for your tenacity and the grace you have demonstrated during these challenging times. Thank you for your attention to this important message and for contributing to making Shoreline a safe and welcoming campus.
