CANVAS ACCESS DIFFICULTIES 12/07/21

What is happening: Users are presently experiencing time outs, inability to access, or extreme slowness when attempting to access Canvas resources.

Event date: December 7th, 2021

Persons affected: Canvas Users

Expected resolution time: Unknown at this time

Details: Amazon Web Services is seeing impact to multiple AWS APIs in the US-EAST-1 Region. This issue is also affecting some of their monitoring and incident response tooling, which is delaying their ability to provide updates. They have identified root cause of the issue causing service API and console issues in the US-EAST-1 Region, and are starting to see some signs of recovery. They do not have an ETA for full recovery at this time.
