Crucible Auditions 12/4 & 12/5

Come Audition for “The Crucible”

Directed by Duygu Monson

‘The Crucible‘ by Arthur Miller is a classic play set during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The play follows the townspeople as hysteria and paranoia slowly spread, ultimately leading to the trial and execution of innocent people accused of witchcraft. It is a powerful story of individual conscience in the face of oppressive authority and public hysteria, as well as a lesson in the consequences of intolerance. As an allegory for McCarthyism, it serves as an important reminder of the dangers of prejudice and mass hysteria.

Directed by: Duygu Monson

Hello everyone, hope you are well.  The weather has definitely taken a shift downward this week and I need to do some serious shopping.  I thought I did Ok last year, but I have been feeling like I need more cold-weather gear!

To gain entry to the event, you must bring an item for the SCC Food Pantry.

When: 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

Register your entry here! Must have an ingredient list/recipe for allergy purposes. Last date to register: Wednesday, November 15, 2023, 5:00pm

I will be the event’s emcee and look forward to seeing all the creative recipes you come up with, most importantly, it is great that we are supporting our Food Pantry and Benefits Hub!

We had a wonderful day on Tuesday with colleagues from the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Tribal College. They came to tour the Campus with a special focus on auto and biotech. We discussed ways we can continue to partner and serve our indigenous community. I was particularly excited about a very long list of ideas we created! We are all looking forward to the good work we hope to do together. Thanks to Muckleshoot representatives Dr Denise Bill, Madrienne White, Elise Bill-Gerrish, Justine Koble, Wayne Buchanan, Trustees Rebecca Chan & Rebecca Ringer, Crystal Hess, Rashawn Smith, John Henning & The SCC Faculty Senate, and the rest of our team for support especially Alejandra Salgado, Brandon Fryman, Aisha Hauser, Lucas Rucks, and Dalila Paredes.

Lastly, we had a fun celebration of Halloween starring the Parent Child Center team, kids, and parents! So cute, and what a morale lifter! Thank you to everyone across campus who gave healthy treats to kids and left the less healthy ones for us 😊 Great job Director Junaid Haq, who is really doing some wonderful work at the Center!

The Foundation Giving Table event is tomorrow, and I can’t wait!!  Looking forward to seeing some of you there and supporting our students!!  We are going to break records this year!!!

This weekend in addition to some work stuff, I am going on a Pizza Quest.  You heard right. When I moved here last year, I made the remark that the Pizza isn’t great here and most folks I spoke with agreed (I tend to like the greasy old school NY style). One colleague outside SCC said that they have a favorite place in the city which is really good and thinks they can change my mind! I will report back next week!

Have a great week all,

Cheers,

Jack
