Campus Updates 7/16/2026

This past week, Shoreline College continued to advance our commitment to student success, equity, accessibility, and community partnership through a number of important initiatives.

We were proud to celebrate National Disability Independence Day and Disability Pride Month with our annual flag-raising event. Our thanks to Miranda Levy, Director of Student Accessibility Services, for her leadership and unwavering advocacy on behalf of students with disabilities. Her work helps ensure that Shoreline remains a welcoming and accessible community for all.

We also received exciting news that Shoreline has been awarded an EVOLVE Grant through the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges to support our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion efforts. Through this initiative, we will collaborate with colleagues from Clark College, Clover Park Technical College, Columbia Basin College, Seattle Colleges, Yakima Valley College, and Pierce College to share best practices and advance innovative equity-centered work. Special recognition goes to Vice President Brian Ramos and his team for their leadership in securing this opportunity and positioning Shoreline as a key partner in this statewide effort.

Our outreach and retention teams also strengthened community relationships through a visit with Centro Cultural Mexicano, where we met with Mariana C. Martinez and learned more about the organization’s impactful work supporting the Latino community. Alongside Brian Ramos, Lizbeth Agapito, Savena Garrett, Jack B., and Elle Rivera Soto, we explored opportunities for future collaboration!

In addition to these activities, the college continued significant work in several key areas. Teams made continued progress on accreditation planning and preparation, advanced important policy review and development efforts, and engaged in ongoing financial stewardship and budget planning to support the institution’s long-term sustainability. We also met with community partners and stakeholders to explore future projects and partnerships that will expand opportunities for our students and strengthen Shoreline’s impact throughout the region.

Thank you to everyone whose dedication and collaboration continue to move Shoreline forward. Your work reflects our shared commitment to excellence, inclusion, and service to our community.

Cheers,

Jack

Building Updates

From Thursday, July 16 through Friday, September 4, 2026, we’ll be using a single public entrance to the 1000 (“Administration”) Building

What to know:

  1. The west-side doors (facing the 1200 Building) will remain locked. Employees with building keys will still be able to enter through these doors. We’ll post signs on the west side directing visitors to the main entrance.
  1. The east-side doors (the flagpole side, facing the 9000/PUB Building) will be unlocked during business hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).

During the summer months, fewer people are typically in the building at any given time due to vacations and varying work schedules. Having a single public entrance will help us greet and assist visitors more effectively.

Printing Services will be closed on Monday, July 20th, through Friday, July 24th, and will reopen on Monday, July 27th.  Please plan accordingly and contact Greg Jensen via email or phone at (206) 546-4674 if you need assistance with your printing needs.
