Hi folks and happy Thursday.
This week has been pretty full – had a great donor meeting and a new project is making some movement (more to come), visited with four business students in professor Custis’s class, and welcomed our new Foundation lead April Nilsen. If you have a moment, come by and say hi to her; she’s on the learning tour!
Other than that, this week has been straightforward – winding down the PRFR accreditation requirements, a lot of email, and preparing for the ET retreat this summer. I’ll share more about that in the next couple of weeks.
Like you, I’ve been thinking a lot about our colleagues and friends in Western Washington who are struggling through the fires. While we’re certainly feeling the effects on our side of the state as well, so many people are facing much more difficult circumstances. I hope you’ve been able to connect with loved ones and that everyone is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances.
Take good care.
Cheers,
Jack

We’re thrilled to announce the hiring of April Nilsen as the new Associate Vice President of Development and Community Engagement / Executive Director of the Foundation! April began her new role at Shoreline College on August 3, 2026. Stop by the Foundation office (Admin 1005) to say hello!
SAVE THE DATE – NOV 6: Mark your calendars for the Shoreline College Foundation’s Annual Giving Table Luncheon on November 6 at 11:30 am. The Main Dining Room will be packed with community leaders, donors, and other friends of the college who are eager to assist in providing access and support for our students. It’s a great opportunity for you to invite people in your networks, advisory committees, and your most caring friends to make a difference for the students you serve.
If you’d like to sponsor this year’s event, host a table, or learn more about the event and the good it does for our students and programs, visit the event website or contact Josh Krupke at jkrupke@shoreline.edu.
Guided Pathways
1. Our Navigate360 Implementation is officially underway! We are focusing first on the CRM side of things, which will primarily serve Recruitment, Communications and Marketing, and new student onboarding.
2. If your area currently uses Starfish, the team would like to hear from you! As a part of project planning, we are asking areas that currently use Starfish to make two wishlists: one of features you currently have in Starfish that you want to keep in Navigate, and one of things you would like to be able to do that Starfish doesn’t currently do for you. We can’t guarantee that everyone will get everything off their wishlist, but having the wishlist will help us deliver as much as possible in our project planning. Send your wishlists to the Starfish team: cjacques@shoreline.edu and rsohn@shoreline.edu.
3. Working on the Navigate implementation means that, while we will continue to support Starfish during the transition period, we don’t have as much bandwidth to implement new things in Starfish. However, less bandwidth doesn’t mean NO bandwidth, so if you have something you are looking to be able to do in Starfish, reach out to us so we can talk it over. We might still be able to make it happen, and if we can’t, we can add it to the wishlists.
