Yard Sale!

Are you struggling to get rid of your old clothes, accessories, kitchen appliances and other items? No worry!! IPMs and A&E Board are having a Yard Sale on Wednesday, May 21st in front of the library.

You can donate:

• Clothes (please no underwear)
• Accessories (e.g. bags and jewelry)
• Small kitchen appliances (e.g. pots and pans)
• School supplies (e.g. unused notebooks, pens)

To donate, you can bring your items to the Student Leadership Center starting Monday, May 19th. We will collect items until Wednesday, May 21st at 11 AM.

Come join us at the Yard Sale on Wednesday, May 21st from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM to buy items! The money we collect from you will go to SCC Foundation. It’s a great way to not only get rid of your unused items, but also benefit the community.

Deep Roots Garden Plant Sale

Wednesday and Thursday in the PUB (9000 Bldg) the annual sale is on from 8:30 to 2:30 p.m. Prices range from a piggy bank saving $.25 all the way up to $25.  Come check it out!

Canvas Training This Week

Canvas engineers have been hard at work making some great changes to the Canvas interface this Spring.  The next update is this Saturday, May 24th with some noteworthy changes and fixes.  Come and learn what’s new including:

  • Gradebook – adding an Individual Student View & removal of the old Gradebook (Gradebook 1)
  • Assignments – settings default to ‘Online’ Submission Type; your settings are now ‘sticky’
  • Conversations – removal of Old Conversations
  • Calendar – new ‘undated assignments’ drag and drop feature & removal of old Calendar (Calendar 1)
  • Modules – improved ‘indent’ capabilities
  • Profile pictures – new cropping tool to help photos fit

Free Workshop! Improve your ability to identify and use the different parts of a sentence in room 1501 at 3 p.m. (For intermediate and advanced ESL students and others wanting a basic review of English grammar)

Great Discussions 2014 continues with this weeks topic: “U.S. Trade Policy” in the boardroom at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $35 for the series or $8 for a single event.  Contact Larry Fuell  for more information.

Hairspray, The Broadway Musical continues! Show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the theater.

sunfestThe Student Leadership of Shoreline Community College would like to announce SUNFEST 2014.  SUNFEST is being held May 19-23 in the Courtyard.  There will be music, club demos, Art Show, Yard sale, a Radical Run Course at the rock river behind the Little Theater, among many other amazing activities.
