Core In-Person Student Services Begin on September 13

Dear Shoreline Staff,

I am writing today with this week’s return-to-campus updates.  Under the guidelines set forth in Governor Inslee’s Higher Education proclamation, the College’s status is as a COVID-19 fully vaccinated campus as of September 7, 2021.

Campus Check In

  • The Campus Check-In/Out process has been discontinued as of September 7. Contract tracing will continue to follow CDC guidelines.

Safety

  • Social distancing is no longer mandated. Please take down any social distancing signage in your office area. While no office on campus is authorized to require social distancing, individuals may request social distancing from others during interactions.
  • Contract tracing will follow CDC guidelines.
    • If you become exposed to COVID-19 and have been on campus, please fill out the exposure reporting form. This is a confidential report for contact tracing purposes.
  • All campus buildings have been outfitted with MERV 13 air filters, which can filter the COVID-19 virus. Filters will be monitored, maintained, and replaced on a regular basis.
  • Continue wearing a mask indoors. This includes all indoor public spaces and when inside college transportation.  The only exceptions to this requirement are when individuals are alone in; 1) an office, 2) an enclosed cubicle, 3) a vehicle, or 4) their own room in the residence hall.
  • Continue washing your hands regularly. Use hand sanitizer if you are not able to wash your hands.  Disinfecting wipes and gloves are not required.
  • Stay home if you are feeling sick.

Core Services

  • As of Monday, September 13, core services staff will be on campus working.
  • Core services staff do not need to request permission to come to campus on the specific days they are scheduled to work on campus.
  • Core services will be offered in-person M-Th 8 am-5 pm, Friday 8 am-Noon, and remote from 12:00 – 4:30. Any exceptions to these hours approved will be noted on each department’s website.
  • Requests for legitimate exemptions to on-campus work should be made to Human Resources (scchr@shoreline.edu ) no later than September 17, 2021.

Attestation

As we continue toward to the start of fall quarter there have been (and will continue to be) many changes that we navigate.  We’re also attempting to ensure that we do not inundate you with messages, while at the same time keeping you informed.  You may also keep apprised of these updates by reviewing the COVID-19 Updates site, or a webpage with updates specific to faculty & staff.

Sincerely,

Phillip J. King

Updates to Fall Student Vaccination Requirements & In-Person Student Services

Dear Shoreline Staff,

Classes will start on September 29, 2021 with up to 25% of classes with in-person components. As we move closer to the beginning of fall quarter, we want to ensure that students, faculty, and staff are supported and are kept abreast of the most recent plans.

Student Vaccination Attestation

  • In-person or on-campus students coming to the College for courses and/or ANY activities or services during fall quarter are required to be fully vaccinated or claim a valid medical or religious exemption by October 18, 2021. Please note that any activity or service sought in person would necessitate this requirement.
  • Fully online students who will not enter the campus in fall quarter are not required to claim their vaccination status or submit an exemption.

IMPORTANT:

Students participating in in-person/hybrid courses or services who do not submit an attestation or have an approved exemption by Oct. 18 will have a registration hold applied to their records. Additionally, students who submit false statements for the purpose of attestation or exemptions may be subject to disciplinary action.
