Join us for our 20th Annual Student Success Breakfast on Thursday, November 2. The event kicks off at 7:00 a.m. and includes a delicious breakfast, inspirational stories from scholarship recipients, live music from Shoreline’s own Funk & Groove, and emceed by Jim Dever of KING5 TV.

Funk & Groove will be performing at the 20th Annual Student Success Campaign Community Breakfast on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 7am in the PUB. The music students are volunteering their time in support of this empowering campaign.

Please invite family and friends to attend. Every contribution is a valuable resource for our students in need through scholarships and much-needed emergency financial assistance. Without your support, many of our students would not be able to realize their dreams of a college education. A special THANK YOU to all of our generous sponsors!

Employer of the Day – Visiting Angels: PUB welcome desk
Mon., Oct. 30: 11am-1pm
A rep from Visiting Angels will be on campus to talk about employment opportunities with the company. From the employer: Interested in starting a career in health care? Visiting Angels is hiring home health care aids and Certified Nursing Assistants! Come discuss opportunities for employment for students and new graduates!

Need help completing your Financial Aid Application? Come to a FAFSA Workshop. A Financial Aid advisor will be available to help you.

Parent-Child Center Costume Walk Parade: Various locations on campus
Tues., Oct. 31: 9:30-11 am
About 70 children will be participating in the annual Costume Walk. Please, no hard candy or items that contain nuts. More info here.

NaNoWriMo Kickoff Party: Library
Tues., Oct. 31: 10:30pm – 1am on Nov. 1
The library is hosting a late night event for National Novel Writing Month. If you haven’t heard, NaNoWriMo is all about writing a 10,000-word novel in just one month and those who attend the party will get a chance to start writing when the clock strikes midnight. Fill out character sheets, do some outlining, and meet others who are prepared to take on the month-long challenge!

Transfer 101- Focus on UW and Out-of-State Universities: PUB 9208
Wed., Nov. 1: 3-4 pm
Transfer 101 is intended for first-year students and will focus on getting into top-ranked universities mostly out-of-state. We will look at the big picture, how to plan, and what to be thinking about ahead of time for transfer.

Diverse Voices in the Military: Vietnam and Current Eras Veterans Panel: PUB 9208
Thurs., Nov. 2: 7-8:30pm
What have been the challenges faced by women and racial & ethnic minorities in the military over time and how have they overcome or otherwise dealt with these challenges? How has their service, return home, and commemoration of their service been similar or different? This discussion is being planned in collaboration with Veterans Services.

Soccer plays at home Sat., Oct. 28

Both women’s and men’s soccer play at home this Sat., Oct. 28 against Whatcom. Come to the soccer field on the north end of campus to cheer on our Phins. Women play at noon, men take the field at 2:15 pm. #GoPhins!
