Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week

The Associated Student Government is partnering with Student Life and the Benefits Hub to offer a variety of events for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week taking place from November 15th-19th. These events aim to raise awareness and educate students, faculty, and staff about how we can better support those experiencing housing insecurity and poverty in our local community. Two short documentaries about the Seattle homeless crisis will be followed by group reflection and discussion.

Veterans Day Celebration & VRC Re-Opening

Veterans Day Celebration in the VRC!  Please join us on Wednesday, November 10, to celebrate Veterans Day and the re-opening of the Veterans Resource Center.  On this day, we honor all current and former members of the U.S. Armed Services.  Our country’s greatness is built on the foundation of your courage and sacrifice.  We thank you for your service and hope you’ll join us as we acknowledge and celebrate your contributions.  Coffee and light snacks will be provided.

  • Flu Vaccine Pop-Up Clinic, Thursday, November 4th from 11:00am – 1:00pm in the PUB (9000 Building), Room 9208 (Quiet Dining Room). Sign up in advance online. Students, family and staff are welcome to attend. Flu shots are free for those with approved insurance, including Apple Health. Masks are required indoors.  
  • COVID-19 vaccination booster shots are available at our on-campus clinic for those who are eligible, including those who work in high-risk settings such as education staff.  The clinic’s scheduled vaccine appointments could become fully booked very soon with kids ages 5-11, so book your appointment soon. 

HSAMCC – Update With Photos

  • Phase 1 Logistics plan is in full effect. Signage is up, fence lines have been shifted, and the construction site is now fully contained. All site visitors need to check in the site office and wear proper PPE if out on site.
  • Clearing and grubbing of vegetation around the perimeter of the 2500 building has been completed.
  • TESC (temporary erosion sediment control) program to manage stormwater runoff is in place. The 5,000 gallon capacity tank seen onsite is in place to assist with this.
  • Rerouting of underground power to 2300 was completed.
  • Temporary parking and striping at the track have been finished.
  • Demolition started on Monday 9/27 and the 2500 building is completely down. Along with the demolition of the 2400 North Building and greenhouse. Dust control measures work as intended.
