Emma Agosta is this academic year’s eLearning Faculty in Residence.

She is available to assist faculty with eLearning issues including help with Canvas, creating a new course, redesigning a course, Quality Matters, Accessibility of eLearning content, hybrid or flipped teaching modalities, video recordings with Panopto, and other eLearning issues.

Emma’s drop-in office hours this quarter are:
MTW 10:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
Th 10-11 a.m.

Office hours will be held in her office (FOSS 5349). She is also available for alternative times by appointment.

Stop by to check out a demonstration of the New Collaboration tool at Shoreline called ZOOM! As Blackboard Collaborate is going away on July 1, 2017, we will be piloting ZOOM as a replacement over the next year or so.

Demonstration sessions will be on the following dates:
May 11 from 12:30-2:00 in rm.1401
May 24 from 2:30-4:00 in rm. 1401

Hello Faculty! It would be great to speak with you to talk about instructional design ideas you have for your face-to-face, hybrid, or online courses.

Accessibility 101: The Basics of Inclusive Design

Insufficient research shows that practicing accessible design will result in more friends and an improved reputation. Step up your game and make a few new friends by signing up to make your courses accessible for students with disabilities and more engaging for everyone!

Registration is now open for Accessibility 101: The Basics of Inclusive Design: April 24 – May 21! (Summer sessions to be announced soon!)

This 4-week, online, asynchronous course is designed for faculty and staff who want to learn simple and quick steps to make materials accessible for people with disabilities and better for all users. Participants do not need to be tech savvy to take this course, but familiarity with MS Office applications and Canvas will be helpful. Participants will be introduced to basic accessibility concepts, practices, and inclusive design standards. The time commitment for this course is approximately 25 hours. The course is free for faculty and staff in the community and technical college system. If you are outside of our system, please contact elearning@sbctc.edu for registration info.
