Construction Update 1/8-5/8/24

Hello Campus Community,

Forma will be conducting some concrete work around 2900 and 4000 starting Monday, 1/8/24 through 5/9/24.  A few paths near both 2900 and 4000 will be closed and repaved.  The map below shows which areas will be closed.  Signage will be placed to redirect foot traffic around the closed areas.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Good morning and Happy New Year!

The holidays and new year can bring many feelings and emotions and want I wanted to take the time to remind you of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that is offered through Shoreline Community College.

What is EAP?

The Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supports public employees (higher education) and/or family members to help identify and resolve personal concerns that may affect job performance. EAP provides services that ultimately promote individual and workplace wellbeing. Services available to all covered employees and/or family members include counselingwork/life24/7 support and awareness, education and resources.

This month, they are featuring the following:

  • Info about EAP webinars, including expanded *live* webinar offerings;
  • Resources to support everyone at home and at work, in recognition of January as International Quality of Life month;
  • Parent and Caregiver resource guideand 
  • Through EAP’s Work/Life website this month they’re offering resources to help with understanding the role of emotional intelligence in your financial health. Attached are the promotional email from EAP and two Work/Life webinars focused on financial wellbeing.

Announcement: Passing of Former Shoreline Community College Trustee Roger Olstad

Former Shoreline Community College Trustee Roger Olstad passed away in October of 2023.

A long-time resident of Lake Forest Park, Mr. Olstad was appointed to the College’s Board of Trustees by former Governor Christine Gregoire and began his term in October 2006. During his six and a half years as a trustee, Mr. Olstad served as Board Chair, Board Vice Chair, and Legislative Liaison to the state’s community and technical college trustee association.
