Campus services, events, and classes (both in person and online) will open late today at 12:00 pm, December 3, 2022, due to inclement weather. Employees should not report for work until 12:00 am unless designated by the College as required to do so. Should employees be unable to reach campus because of inclement weather conditions, please work with your supervisor to identify remote work or leave options as appropriate.  

Students, please check your course Canvas pages before class to know if your class will be offered remotely. 

Safety & Security will be available to assist the 7000 building residents as needed.

HSAMCC Construction Update 12/2/22

Project Details – Heath Science Advanced Manufacturing Classroom Complex

  • The HSAMCC will replace five previously existing buildings (2400, 2500, 2600, 2700, and 2800) with the construction of a new 50,700 square foot multi-instructional facility.
  • The building is located on the footprint of the previously existing 2500 Building.
  • The HSAMCC provides state-of-the-art educational spaces for Chemistry, Biology, Medical Lab Technology, Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing and Bio-Manufacturing.
  • When finished in August of 2023, the three-story structure will have a south-facing territorial view of natural spaces that preserve existing, significant trees and landscape features.
  • The complex will integrate enhanced outdoor student and community gathering areas.

High Level Construction Summary Timeline

Summer 2021:   Contractor mobilization and construction start – Complete

Summer 2021:   Demolition Phase I included existing buildings 2500 and North 2400 buildings including greenhouse and infiltration pond – Complete

Summer 2022:   Greenwood parking lot infiltration pond construction – Complete

Summer/Fall 2023:   Building occupancy compliance/completion and college teams move-in to HSAMCC.

Fall/Winter 2023:  Demolition Phase II includes existing buildings 2600, 2700, and 2800, and South 2400 buildings.

Winter/Spring 2024:  Landscaping of new courtyard and overall project completion (includes new greenhouse and pond). This will coincide with the future STE(A)M project development.
