30-second survey for all employees

The all-employee Day of Professional Learning is coming on April 26.

In preparation for this event, we are asking all employees to please complete this very short, one question, anonymous, online survey.

The survey will be open for five days. We will use the data we collect to help us plan the morning sessions.

Message from President Roberts: Announcing Interim Chief Financial Officer

Dear Colleague,

As of March 15th, I have asked William (Bill) Saraceno, MBA, to act as Interim Chief Financial Officer for the College. While primarily working from his home located the Tri-Cities, Bill will be on campus periodically in support of our budget management needs. He will serve in this interim capacity while the College recruits for a permanent Vice President for Business & Administrative Services.

With more than 30 years of experience in community college budget and financial management in the Washington State Board for Community & Technical Colleges (SBCTC) system, Bill most recently worked at Tacoma Community College as Interim Vice President for Administrative Services (see resume).

Now that Bill is serving as the Interim Chief Financial Officer, former Senior Executive Director & CFO Stuart Trippel may need to interact with us to provide specific information related to work in the Office of Business & Administrative Services or information related to our ongoing capital projects.

During this period, you may also want to refer to my previous message in Day at a Glance (DAAG), which has been updated. This message refers to the temporary reporting structure for the Office of Business & Administrative Services.

Please join me in welcoming Bill to Shoreline.

Respectfully,
Cheryl Roberts, Ed.D.
President

Day of Learning theme update

Please mark your calendars and save the date for this year’s Day of Professional Learning happening April 26. This year’s theme/focus will be Power and Privilege. This day will be an exciting opportunity for us to come together, learn together, have fun together, and build on our great legacy of creating an inclusive campus culture of support and care. There will be sessions that will count towards Faculty’s 10-hours training requirement, specifically for equity and inclusion, and possibly other categories.

The general layout of the day will include: a light breakfast and welcome, smaller morning breakout sessions, lunch, followed by afternoon group sessions and community building activity(ies).

If you need special accommodations please reach out to Sarah Dunkinson (sdunkinson@shoreline.edu) by Friday, March 22nd to ensure that we can make this day a truly enriching experience for everyone.

If you are interested in facilitating a session and/or leading a discussion group, or for any other questions, concerns, suggestions, please contact Pilar Corder (206.546.5857) or pcorder@shoreline.edu.

With humility and gratitude, Shine!
