Call for proposals for Shoreline’s Day of Learning coming Fri. April 27
The College’s Day of Learning is Fri., April 27, and we are seeking faculty and staff who would like to lead a workshop session. Please see the Request for Proposals if you are interested in leading a concurrent session.
The deadline for proposals is Friday, March 23.
Math Olympiad event on campus this Sat., March 10 – parking alert!
If you plan to be on campus this Sat., March 10, take note that 956 elementary and middle school mathletes and their teachers and parents will also be on campus for Shoreline Math Olympiad scheduled from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Set up begins at 6 am.
Be sure to leave extra time for parking and note that some facilities (PUB, gym, and #1100, 1500, #1700, #1800 classrooms) will be occupied during the event. Contact Suzanne Gugger or Amy Stapleton for details or if you want to come hand out medals as a college rep!
The competition is for 4-8th-grade students attending public and private schools in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. Students test in the morning and enjoy entertainment and awards in the gym starting at 12:30 p.m. Sponsored by Shoreline School District, Shoreline Public Schools Foundation, Shoreline Community College, and local businesses.
This event is open to the public. Feel free to stop by and join us for our entertainment and awards ceremony.
Part-time faculty professional development applications due April 13
Part-time Faculty Professional Development Applications
Part-time faculty may submit an Application for Professional Development Pool Funds for reimbursement for expenses such as conferences, classes, professional organization membership dues, journals/books, etc. (Please read the application instructions thoroughly for specific details). Applications may be submitted at any time during the academic year for consideration of an initial disbursement of up to $500.00. Requests in excess of $500.00 will be reviewed after each of the two deadlines during the year (the first Friday in December and the second Friday in April). The upcoming deadline on April 13, 2018 is the last day to apply. Applications must include all required documents and signatures and be turned in to the Office of Student Learning & Success, #1003, no later than 5pm. Please work closely with your Division Administrative Assistant and Dean to ensure the application is complete. Funds will be disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted.
