Shoreline Community College Musical Theater Program is proud to present The Addams Family – A New Musical Comedy playing in the main campus theater Oct. 6-8 and Oct. 13-15. Get tickets!

It’s a dismal day with the Addams family, and the abnormally ghoulish and gloomy atmosphere of the Addams’ family mansion is suddenly disrupted when outsiders come to dinner, hurling Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Grandmama, and Lurch headlong into a night that will change the family forever.

Based on Charles Addams’ beloved characters, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa (Wild Party, Big Fish), book by Marshall Brickmann (Annie Hall, Jersey Boys) and Rick Elice (Peter and the Starcatcher, Jersey Boys), The Addams Family will supply all the ghoulish laughs and tortured entertainment you’ll need to jumpstart your Halloween season!

Shows are October 6, 7, 13, and 14 at 7:30 pm; October 8 and 15 at 3:00 pm.

Tickets available at Brown Paper Tickets and at the door.

Message from President Roberts regarding the tragic events in Las Vegas

Dear Colleagues,

This morning we woke to a tragic event that took place last evening in Las Vegas. Our hearts go out to the those who were victims, as well as their families and friends. The tremendous loss of life and wounding of so many reminds us of our resolve to resist hateful and violent actions of intolerance wherever we experience it.

This senseless tragedy will affect each of us differently so I wanted you to know there are services available to assist you.

· Counseling services are available for students who may need support. The Counseling Center is located in the FOSS Building in Room 5245. During regular hours, contact 206-546-4594. After hours, a 24-hour Crisis Line is available to students at 866-427-4747.

·
Counseling services are also available to Shoreline employees via the Employee Assistance Program at 877-313-4455.

During this time of grief, we are reminded of the power of community and the outpouring of support to help one another. I am grateful that we are a college who knows what we stand for and what we are building together.

With solidarity,

Cheryl

October 3:  Last day to add a class for Fall Quarter

Research has demonstrated that late registration has a negative impact on a student’s ability to be successful in a course. Because Shoreline Community College is committed to the success of every student, the College is making a significant change to the timeline for adding classes after the quarter begins. Please read the message below, from Enrollment & Financial Aid Services (EFAS), detailing the changes.

Beginning Fall Quarter 2017, students may add classes through the first full week of the quarter only.

The last day to add a class for Fall Quarter will be Tuesday, October 3. October 3, 2017, is also the last day for online registration.

Adding a class during the second week of the quarter is now considered “late enrollment”.* Late enrollment will be permitted only in rare and unusual circumstances. Requests for late enrollment will require that the student complete a Petition for Late Enrollment form (On the student forms page, “Petition for Late Enrollment” ) be submitted to the instructor, and will be allowed only by special permission of the course instructor and the division dean.

The student must complete the form, including a statement of why they are enrolling after the first week of classes, and forward the form to the instructor (NOT to Enrollment & Financial Aid Services). The instructor will approve or deny, then forward to the dean. If approved, the dean will forward the petition to EFAS, who will register the student and notify the student, instructor, and dean.

The deadline for late enrollment will be the last day of the second week of the quarter.  For Fall Quarter 2017, the last enrollment date will be Tuesday, October 10.
*Exceptions: Exceptions to the Fall Quarter late-enrollment deadline include enrollment into late-starting and continuous-enrollment courses, section change (with instructor approval), re-enrollment after drop for non-payment (with instructor’s approval), and registration using a state employee/senior citizen tuition waiver (with instructor’s approval).

If you have questions, please contact your Division Dean or Pollie McCloskey at pmccloskey@shoreline.edu.
