Winter Closure Comp Time Opportunities

As agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with the WFSE-HE related to the planned closure of our campus during the week following this year’s Christmas holiday (December 26th – 29th, 2017) classified staff are being provided with opportunities to earn compensatory (comp) time through professional development activities scheduled to occur between now through November 30, 2017 as listed below:

You’re invited to the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration Wed., Oct. 4

International Education invites the entire campus community to come celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival in the PUB Quiet Dining Room (9208) on Wed., Oct. 4 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. Enjoy a taste of traditional mooncake, try making a mooncake model, watch the Chinese TV Gala, decorate your own paper lanterns, and more! This event is free and open to the community.

6x6NW Arts Event on campus this Sat., Oct. 7

6x66X6NW is an exciting art exhibition event to benefit the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council. The show will feature over 600 works of art, all sized 6 x 6 inches. Shoreline Community College students and staff have artwork submitted in the event.

This evening event will feature drinks, music, and hundreds of 6 x 6-inch artworks by artists and art lovers from across the country, on sale for just $36 each. If you see something you like, you better act fast, because eager art collectors will be welcome to pull their purchases right off the walls! Concerned you might not get the piece you pine for? Enter the Collector’s Choice raffle for a chance to select any masterpiece you would like before the buying frenzy begins.
