Reminder! Books to Prisoners book drive accepting donations

Make a book donation to the Books to Prisoners Book Drive today! Books to Prisoners is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization whose mission it is to foster a love of reading behind bars, encourage the pursuit of knowledge and self-empowerment, and break the cycle of recidivism. The most popular requests are dictionaries, thesauruses, African American history, and fiction. Books to Prisoners relies on books donated by community members to answer these requests, so please make a book donation this quarter to help a few of the thousands of individuals who request books each year. Book drop-offs are located in the Library 4000 Building (near the main entrance) and the PUB 9000 Building (across from the front entrance). Donations are being accepted now through March 20.

Budget & Capital Leadership Change

Shoreline Community College is making a change in the leadership of its budget, capital, facilities, and safety and security operations. Dawn Vinberg, Executive Director, Budget and Capital, has left the College effective today. President Cheryl Roberts expressed appreciation for Ms. Vinberg’s service.

Stuart Trippel, Senior Executive Director and CFO, will provide direct supervision to the Facilities Department and the Safety and Security Department. Until the organizational structure is further evaluated, staff in the Budget Office will report to Jennifer Fenske, Director, Financial Services, and the college’s rentals function will be supervised by Leah Pearce, Director, Bookstore.

The College will review its current needs to determine the title and areas of responsibility for the vacant position, followed by an open search process.
