18th Annual Student Success Campaign Community Breakfast “Imagine,” Thurs., Nov. 5

The Shoreline Community College Foundation hosts an Annual Student Success Campaign Community Breakfast each November. Attended by friends and the business and campus communities, this traditional breakfast raises crucial dollars for student scholarships and financial support. This will mark the 18th year of this annual event.

The 18th Annual Student Success Campaign Community Breakfast “Imagine” of the Shoreline Community College Foundation will be held Thursday, November 5, from 7 – 8:30 a.m. in the Main Dining Room of the Pagoda Union Building (PUB).

The cost to attend is $50 per person or $400 per table of eight. For more information about the event, please click here.

Scholarship Applications Now Available for 2015-2016 School Year

Be sure to tell your students that applications for scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year are now available!

This year over 40 different scholarships are being offered and are worth over $200,000! The list of scholarships with criteria, submission requirements and applications can be found on the SCC Foundation scholarship webpage.

The deadline to apply is 4pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 *

There are scholarships for present SCC students who will be continuing their studies during 2015-2016, students who will be new to SCC during the upcoming school year and a few for students transferring to a four-year institution.

Help spread the news!  These opportunities may just be what a student needs to assist them in obtaining the success they desire and deserve.

Order Your Brick of Support for the Library by July 15!

Bricks of Support for the LibraryYou can have a personalized brick on a column outside the Library/Media/Technology Center to:

  • Remember a loved one
  • commemorate an important event in your life
  • place a favorite saying
  • and much more

Each brick is $100 and is tax deductible.  The proceeds will be used to enhance the Library/Media/ Technology Center.

The deadline is July 15, 2014, with the hope of having the bricks engraved before fall quarter. (A minimum number is needed to proceed with the engravings.)

Time to enjoy summer and time to order gift cards

Gift cards are again available to order through the SCC Foundation’s Cards for College Program.  Summer is a good time for home projects.  A gift card for Lowes or Home Depot will help get the job done.  Purchase a gift card foramazon.com or Barnes and Noble and then  order a book to read at the beach or while on vacation.  Don’t forget gift cards for Albertson’s or Safeway can help with your barbeque needs. Orders are due in the SCC Foundation office – room 1005, by Thursday, July 25 at noon.  The cards should be ready for pick up the week of August 5.
