Join the Office of yəhaw̓ in celebrating the Day of the Dead at our new yəhaw̓ Center for Student Empowerment. Bring photos of your dearly departed and/or make a craft to add to our ofrenda! You may also choose to participate in creating our community art piece by making some art of your own—materials and prompts provided to make it a stress-free experience.

Through the Lens:  Student Documentary Photography Closing Reception

Please join us for music and refreshments in the SC Gallery this coming Thursday to celebrate creative collaborations between these emerging artists and community organizations!

Documentary Photography coursework, taught by faculty member Lauren Greathouse at Shoreline Community College, focuses on the culmination of an entire quarter of visual storytelling and service to the community. These Shoreline student artists spent an entire quarter working in collaboration with a non-profit of their choosing within the Seattle area, merging art and agency through the selection of images on display.

A Shoreline twist on a traditional feira/feria-a fair to celebrate what it means to be Latine/x. There will be a live performance of Folklorico dancers and a proclamation issued by the Mayor of Shoreline.

Loud & Proud National Coming Out Day

In recognition of National Coming Out Day on Oct 11th, the yəhaw̓ Center for Student Empowerment is hosting a celebration for students, staff & faculty. We will offer refreshments, crafts, and community resources. 

Everyone is welcomed to attend and learn about the history of national coming out day and current issues facing LGBTQ+ community.

Fall Term ID Card Event

If you don’t have a Shoreline ID card yet, mark your calendars – our fall quarter ID card event is coming up soon!

Current students, staff, and faculty can get ID cards made October 7 – 9. Stop by the FOSS Welcome Desk (Building 5000) between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to pick up a number and get in line to take your photo! In addition to the daytime hours, we’ll also be available October 7 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Please come prepared with your ctcLink number and a Photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport).
