Fish War: Film & Panel Discussion

When the state of Washington made it illegal for tribes to fish for salmon in their usual and accustomed places, it was a declaration of war. Fish War follows the tribes’ fight to exercise their treaty-reserved fishing rights.

 Panel discussion follows the film, along with Native Artisan Vendors and Native Drumming.

Join the Office of yəhaw̓ in celebrating the Day of the Dead at our new yəhaw̓ Center for Student Empowerment. Bring photos of your dearly departed and/or make a craft to add to our ofrenda! You may also choose to participate in creating our community art piece by making some art of your own—materials and prompts provided to make it a stress-free experience.

Documentary Photography coursework, taught by faculty member Lauren Greathouse at Shoreline Community College, focuses on the culmination of an entire quarter of visual storytelling and service to the community. These Shoreline student artists spent an entire quarter working in collaboration with a non-profit of their choosing within the Seattle area, merging art and agency through the selection of images on display.
