ShoreLake Arts wants to help fill your child’s summer with fun and art! Our Art Adventure summer camps–presented in partnership with Shoreline Community College and located on the SCC campus–are the perfect place for your student to fire up their creative spark, learn new skills, and make friends this summer.

Make Your Mark (Jul 10, 2023 – Jul 14, 2023 – Grades 3-5)

  • Explore the evolution of drawing–from cave art and hieroglyphics to modern graphic design–and be inspired to create your own spectacular drawings. 

Around the World (July 17-20, 2023 – Grades 3-5) 

  • Join Ukrainian Artist Nataliya Zigelboym to explore cultures from ancient history through the present day.

Things with Wings (July 24-28, 2023 – Grades 2-4)

  • It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a dragon! Let your imagination soar and take you to new heights in this art camp inspired by all things that fly.

Painting Intensive (August 7-10 – Grades 9-12)

  • For new painters and those looking to hone skills– take a deep dive into the world of color mixing, paint consistency, application, varnishing, and more.

Portrait Drawing (August 14-18 – Grades 9-12)

  • Portraits are an essential part of every student artist’s portfolio. Join Teaching Artist Fergus Temporada to learn the tools to capture the human face on paper. 

Draw, Paint, Stitch and Cut (August 21-25 – Grades 6-8)

  • Spend a fun week creating mixed media and textile works. Draw, paint, cut, tear, and stamp as you create collages, felt objects, and frame loom tapestries.

Get your Girl Scout Badge at Shoreline in July

Do you know a local girl scout? Sign them up to earn their Girl Scout Ceramics Badge in 3 weeks! 

This 3 session class with Mary Segle, Shoreline SCC alum and Visual Arts program support,  is designed to give girl scouts the hands-on experience to make 2 simple pottery projects to meet the requirements of for the Pottery Merit Badge. All supplies included to complete two glazed ceramic projects. For registered girl scouts age 11-17 years.

Shoreline Community College Athletics is gearing up for their summer youth and high school sport camps.

Basketball camps for 4th – 8th grade and high school players start next week in the Shoreline Community College gymnasium. Film camp for kids on campus this summer! 

Filmmaking with Trina Griffin, SCC alum & local Producer/Director with Rising Reels   

This camp will introduce students to learning about how to create a short film with an introduction to professional film equipment. Two sessions for students 9-12 and 13-18 years old. Students will learn to create concepts and characters, script writing and the elements inside producing and directing to shoot their own short film.
