U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Robert Blake Visits Shoreline During International Student Orientation

The U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, Robert Blake, paid Shoreline students, staff and members of the Board of Trustees a visit Mon., March 23 as part of an outreach tour of the Seattle area.

Ambassador Blake visited with President Cheryl Roberts and Executive Director of International Education, Diana Sampson, before doing a meet and greet with several Indonesian students and their families.

During the visit, Ambassador Blake praised Shoreline’s reputation within the Indonesian community and said he firmly believes in the value of community colleges, as his own wife went to community college in New York before transferring to Brown University.

As part of the event, Shoreline students from Indonesia sang the Indonesian national anthem, “Indonesia Raya.”
