Employees’ service honored at Spring Luncheon

Dean Gillian Lewis holds the crystal vase she received to note 40 years of service at Shoreline Community College.

Fifty-six faculty, staff and administrators at Shoreline Community College were honored June 9, 2014 at the Spring Luncheon, a celebration of service award recipients and retirees. Together, the employees represent more than 800 years of commitment to helping students. (2014 Spring Luncheon program)

Honored for five years of service were: Betsy Binnian, Robin Blacksmith, Michael Boehm, Fikru Diro, Nancy Eichner, Deborah Handrich, Mimi Harvey, Adrienne Houck, Donna Langley, Daniel Leslie and Ellen Leung.

Marking 10 years of service were: Helena Azevedo, Maryrose Bellert, Ann Garnsey-Harter, Nancy Goodisman, Joanna Haeck, Holly Havnaer, Kay Johansen, Natalie Niblack, Jensina Oliver, Samira Pardanani, Movakel Sargizi, Saroeun Sey and Annamaria Winters.

Brian Saunders and Phat Tran were honored for 15 years at the college.

At 20 years were Chanthol Kong, Ron Norimatsu and Neal Vasishth.

Making the 25-year mark were Vince Barnes, Debra Doepping, Pamela Francisco and  Melinda Lane.

Sandra Bishop, Linda Mickelberry  and Margaret Parker were noted for 30 years of service.

One person, Dave Holmes, was honored for 35 years at the college.

And at 40 years of service to students, Gillian Lewis and Marcia Liaw were honored.

The retirees this year were Bruce Amstutz, Betsey Barnett, Donna Biscay, Diane Clifford, Tony Costa, David Cunningham, Cynthia Marshall, Jeanne Skaare, Bill Sperling, Jean Strieck, Margaret Whittemore and Barbara Yasui.

Advising 101 & 201

Diana Knauf will be presenting Advising 101 – The basics (or refresher) at 11 a.m. in Rm 1004 and Advising 201 – Incorporating ADP into your Advising Work at 12 p.m. in Rm 1104 on June 10.

Windows 8 on its way!

Windows 8 will be the standard for campus computer labs by Fall. Prepare yourself by learning some of the basics of Windows 8. Log into Lynda.com using your @shoreline.edu email address and password.

Learning the basics of this new operating system will greatly improve your experience. Even if you’ve been using Windows 8, you will find little tips and tricks throughout the videos that show how to use the system more quickly and efficiently.
