Great Washington Shakeout Thurs., Oct. 19

Where will you be at 10:19 a.m. on 10/19 for the Great Washington Shakeout?

Shoreline Community College will be participating in this worldwide earthquake preparedness awareness effort. We encourage all faculty, staff, and students to conduct a DROP, COVER, HOLD ON exercise drill on October 19 at 10:19 a.m. as a part of the The Great Washington Shakeout program.

At Shoreline, college officials suggest three things to get ready for the Great Washington Shakeout drill:

#1. Read the plan
– Go to to see Shoreline’s emergency preparedness information and the Emergency Management Response plan

#2. Make sure you that you are signed up to receive the campus RAVE ALERT messages
– Go to to add phone numbers and additional email accounts to your message preferences

#3. Do the drill at 10:19 on 10/19
If it is appropriate for where you are:
– DROP to the ground
– Take COVER by getting under a sturdy desk or table
– HOLD ON to it until the shaking stops
