Dawn Beck selected as Vice President for Business & Administrative Services

The College is pleased to announce that Dawn Beck, CPA, has accepted the position of Vice President for Business & Administrative Services.

In her role, Beck will be responsible for the following within the Business & Administrative Services division: Financial Services, Budget, Auxiliary Services, and Facilities & Capital Projects.

Dawn shared, “I am delighted to be joining Shoreline Community College. My career started as a work-study student in the accounting office of a local community college. Because of the opportunities received there, I am a strong believer in the accessibility and the high-quality education provided by our community colleges. Being able to bring my 25 years of professional experience in leading organizations and growing great finance teams feels like coming home. I’m looking forward to being part of the Shoreline Community College team with its reputation of excellence and quality education.”

Dawn is a Seattle native and a graduate of the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. She has 25 years of experience in both public accounting and private industry. Most recently, Dawn was with the Seattle Art Museum where she managed the finance department and worked extensively on the major capital renovation of the Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park. She has also worked in the restaurant and food manufacturing industries, including experience at the Space Needle, Wild Ginger/Triple Door, and the Redhook Ale Brewery. Dawn has two grown children, loves cooking, hiking, is an avid beekeeper and lives with her husband and dog in North Seattle.

Please welcome Dawn to the Shoreline community! Her start date is June 1, 2020.
