The Commencement Committee requests nominations for student and faculty speakers. Nominees for Student Speaker will be interviewed via video conferencing and reviewed by the Student Speaker subcommittee at a later date. Speakers will be selected based on their accomplishments and potential to deliver meaningful, thought-provoking messages to graduates and guests. Those that are not chosen to be Student Speaker will still be able to communicate their story on the day of the ceremony, as some of the footage recorded will be displayed during the ceremony. Student nominees must have their graduation applications submitted by the April 30th deadline.
Shoreline Community College is also pleased to continue the tradition of presenting a Student Service Award to honor one or more of its graduating students. This award recognizes a student’s service and contributions to the College and is presented prior to the commencement ceremony each year. The recipient(s) will receive an individual plaque and their names will be added to a permanent plaque that is displayed in the Student Leadership Center.
Nominations can be submitted online. All submissions will need to be submitted by Friday, May 22nd, 2020 (by 4:30 p.m.) to be considered for either honor.
