New Waves of Gratitude submissions

• A wave of gratitude to Jeff Kashiwa! Thank you Jeff for a spectacular Live Unmuted Café performance. I am grateful for your openness to be our first performer and to share your extraordinary talent to uplift your community spirit!

• A wave of gratitude from Kyle Winslow to Ailsa Kellam! I would like to thank Ailsa Kellam for her tireless work to develop the first new AAAS degree in many years at Shoreline. Ailsa worked with industry partners, subject matter experts, and stakeholders across campus to create a Business Intelligence and Data Analytics degree. She spent hundreds of hours doing research and creating outcomes for this degree that will bring students family-wage jobs. We hope to get the degree approved by the Curriculum Committee on May 21. It has been a joy to work with Ailsa on this project.

* A wave of gratitude from Pilar Corder to Ted Johnson! Thank you Ted for being willing to share your gifts with us during the “Unmuting the Mic” series! It is but just a moment in taking a break but one that I know many were blessed by!

• A wave of gratitude from Jenna Durney to Tigist Stanghor! After Spring Quarter start, Opportunity Grant had money left over to help pay tuition for students. Even though it was extra work, Tigist expertly processed these awards. We were able to spend an additional $30,000 on tuition for students. Despite the challenges that come with being remote she did this quickly. I am so appreciative to have Tigist on the Workforce Team. Her knowledge and skill are so valued. Thank you Tigist!

• A wave of gratitude from Jenna Durney to Kirsten Nelson! After Spring Quarter started, Opportunity Grant still had extra money to help pay for students’ tuition. Over the past few weeks, I was able to pay for tuition for 17 new Opportunity Grant students. I know processing financial aid adjustments and reimbursement is a huge process and extra work, especially for so many students after the quarter starts. I want to say a huge thank you for all the work that you did to help these students.

*A wave of gratitude from Pilar Corder to Dave Bristow! Even though we couldn’t see your beautiful piano playing live it was definitely a great experience to see your gifts and talents. Thank you!
