“The Benefits Hub is partnering with Seattle Credit Union* to provide financial education opportunities to up to 200 community college students. Over the course of 6 months, students will participate in financial capability opportunities, including coaching and workshops, and save between $16-42 per month with their new financial skills. Students who complete the program requirements receive a 2:1 match of up to $250 saved , for a total savings of $750 (max $500 match + $250 saved by student).
In order to receive a match at the end of the program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must be enrolled at a Benefits Hub Partner college in 6 credits or more or be enrolled in a college degree seeking or certificate program for the duration of the matched savings program.
- Students must have an income of any amount.
- Students must agree to BH terms of service and SCU member authorization agreement.
- Students must complete pre-program and post-program surveys.
- Students must complete the program requirements of saving at least $16 a month, attending four individual financial coaching sessions, and attending one financial coaching workshop.
