President Roberts attends the Economic Forecast Conference & Senate Ways & Means Hearing, Thurs., Jan. 14

President Roberts will be off campus Thursday, January 14, 2016 for the Economic Forecast Conference & Senate Ways & Means Hearing.

Our week of events celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy kicks off this Thurs., Jan. 14 with a poster making and audio session!

Poster Making & Audio Session – 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in PUB 9202
We will be making posters for the march on Monday and to be put up in the PUB. Playing during this time will be MLK Jr’s last Sermon “The Drum Major Instinct” from February 4, 1968, recorded at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Ironically, two months before his assassination, he told his congregation what he would like said at his funeral: ‘‘I’d like for somebody to say that day that Martin Luther King, Jr. tried to love somebody.’’

Metro Transit Alert for Martin Luther King Day, Mon. Jan. 18

A message from Metro Transit:

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr holiday, Metro will operate its Reduced Weekday and ‘When no UW’ schedules on Monday, January 18. Some routes do not operate at all on Monday. Other routes operate fewer trips than on a regular weekday.

Most Metro and King County offices will be closed on Monday, including Metro’s Customer Information, Lost and Found and Pass Sales offices.

Also on Monday, some transit service will be rerouted or delayed during Martin Luther King events in the downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill and Central areas.

No faculty, students or staff may use the Fitness Center during the PE 136/236 (M/W 10:30am-11:30am) and PE 139/239 (Tu/Th 10:30am-12:30pm) classes.
