Fire Alarm Testing

During the week of Aug 25-29, Simplex Grinnell will be on campus testing the fireFire Alarm alarm system campus-wide.

On occasion, an alarm or siren may briefly ring. The brief interruptions will not necessitate a building evacuation.

However, if the alarm continues to ring, please take it seriously and evacuate your building.

The 9000 Building (PUB) will have testing which creates an alarm throughout the building. The 9000 Bldg will be done on Thursday during the window of 11:30 – 2 p.m.  The alarm will ring 2-3 times but silenced as quickly as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your cooperation with this important and required testing process.

Security & Emergency Management Director

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!

ice-cream-sandwichThe days are getting shorter and the weather a little cooler. (Yes, a collective groan is in order!) But, we all know what that means. Students are on their way back to campus! (Hooray!!)

To celebrate that, join us for the End of Summer ice cream social in the courtyard near the PUB on Friday, August 29, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. (If the nice weather decides to end a little sooner, we will just head in to the quiet dining room.)

It will be a time to celebrate before the beginning of a new school year, say hello to friendly faces and of course, eat some delicious treats (like the ice cream sandwich pictured above!) Save the date!
