WANTED: Bare Minimum

There are three showings of WANTED: Bare Minimum this week. Shows will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday (March 13, 14 &15) at 7:30.

Part fiction, part documentary, Shoreline Community College Acting and Film students present “Wanted: Bare Minimum”.  This student written and produced play explores the good, bad and the ugly of our vision versus the reality of the American dream.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Cost is $7 for Shoreline students, $9 for Staff, non-scc students and seniors and $11 general admission.

GAC continues Global Eyes series

GlobalEyesWinter2014 WebAdGlobal Affairs Center hosts “Project Kenya: Transforming lives through education” on Thursday, March 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the PUB quiet dining room with guests Daryl Campbell (Acting President, Shoreline Community College) and Benson Mutua (Director, Clay International Secondary School, Ngomano, Kenya).

Prism concert March 12

Shoreline’s Music Department vocal and instrumental ensembles present the annual “Prism” concert, a kaleidoscope of classical, jazz, and pop music in sound-surround!

Concert starts Wednesday, March 12, at  7:30 p.m. in the PUB main dining room. All proceeds benefit the Music Scholarship fund.

Tickets available at the door: $10 general admission / $7 seniors and SCC employees / $5 students.

Another Financial Aid info session

The priority deadline to apply for 2014 – 2015 financial aid is March 21.

By popular demand the Financial Aid Office is offering another information session on Wednesday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m., in the Library classroom (Room 4214).  There will be time for questions and answers and help with completing the 2014-2015 FAFSA.  Students interested in completing the FAFSA at this session should bring their 2013 tax information or estimates — including their parent’s tax information if applicable.

BREATHE on March 13

Picture%20%28Device%20Independent%20Bitmap%29%201Pre Final Exam Break: Counseling Services, Student Leadership and Veterans Resource Center are working together with other campus departments (Intramural Sports, Music Department, Bookstore, Center for Equity and Engagement, International Education) to sponsor  a pre-final exam stress relief break for all students. Refer students to: www.shoreline.edu/breathe
BREATHE (Breathe, Relax, Energize, Art, Treats, Helpful Hints, Exercise) will occur before final exams and include fun activities, relaxation techniques and educational materials to help students manage and reduce their stress and to improve their opportunity for success.
March 13th will consist of a full-day of activities for all students.  We will provide free popcorn, cocoa, and other snacks. Students are encouraged to take a break, and BREATHE. It’s a known secret that reducing stress supports students’ success and helps them perform at their highest level. Activities will occur from 9:00a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  See Activity Schedule below:
