Board to continue presidential finalist deliberations

The Shoreline Community College Board of Trustees will take a little more time before picking the finalists for president of the college.

Board members met in executive session Monday night, Jan. 27, 2014, to review recommendations from a presidential screening committee. Trustees Phil Barrett and Tom Lux were present with trustees Catherine D’Ambrosio, Tayloe Washburn and Shoubee Liaw attending by phone. In the end, the board deferred action. Another meeting will be scheduled and announced as soon as it is set.

Results of MLK Day Food Drive

fooddrive1Dear Faculty and Staff,

Last week 150 SCC students celebrated the annual MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 20th by collecting food for a nine-store food drive around Shoreline. We collected in total 8,439 pounds of food for Hopelink, North Helpline, and Greenwood food banks! The top-collecting store, led by Faustin Saputra and Evangeline Munson was QFC Northgate at 11100 Roosevelt Way- collecting 1, 732 pounds of food for North Helpline! The final results can be found on the website!

To celebrate their efforts I will be planning a celebration lunch in the month of February to award prizes, certificates, and share good food and conversation with participants. Thank you for your collective support of this event- it was a great success!

Best,

Katherine Erickson

If you haven’t checked out the art gallery…

You should totally do it! It’s a really innovative exhibit featuring works from Scott Kolbo. Kolbo spent a long workshop day on Saturday with Shoreline students creating the large collaborative drawing/video on display now in the lobby of the 2000 building.  Stop by and take a look!
