Dear Colleague,
As part of the early permit and site work, the construction team for the Health, Science and Advanced Manufacturing Classroom Complex will be conducting load monitoring for various portions of our electrical system.
One of the key points for this monitoring is the transformer and panel in the rhododendron grove between the 2100 and 2300 buildings. On Saturday, November 2, 2019 the team will install the monitoring devices. This will result in a power loss to buildings 2000, 2100, 2200, and 2300 for the duration of the installation which is expected to be from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
The rest of campus will not be affected.

Reminder: Parent-Child Center Costume Walk Parade Oct. 31

The annual Parent-Child Center costume walk will be held on Thurs., Oct. 31 from 9:30-11am. For those new to the College and unfamiliar with this event, children who attend the Parent-Child Center trick-or-treat across campus departments.
Various departments have shared in this exciting event with the children by offering treats for their goody bags.
If your department would like the trick-or-treaters to stop by, please email Jocelyn Ramos at joramos@shoreline.edu.
This year there will be approximately 70 children, ranging from 5 months to 5 years of age. Please make sure you have enough goodies to accommodate 70 children. Treats departments have given out in the past have included stickers, crackers, pencils, candies, etc.
If you choose to hand out candy, please NO hard candies or items that contain any NUTS.
Online and Hybrid Quality Course Design Institute

ELearning Services is offering our Online and Hybrid Quality Course Design Institute again this Winter quarter. If you are interested in joining us, please read on for more information.
Stipends
Participants will earn a $100 stipend for participating in the institute and then an additional $400 stipend for earning a Shoreline Quality Course Design Certification.
Course Overview
You will choose one of your courses to work on throughout the Institute – it can be a conversion of a course from F2F to Hybrid or to Online or even a brand new course. We will cover hybrid and online course design topics such as alignment of content with course outcomes, video assignments, high engagement teaching strategies, collaborative technologies, and practices to make your course more accessible.
Institute Schedule
This Institute will run for 6 weeks during Winter quarter. We will offer two identical sessions each of the 6 weeks, so you can choose which Thursday or Friday session you will attend each week based on your preference.
These sessions will be held on Thursdays 1:30pm – 3:30pm and Fridays 10:00am – 12:00pm.
