Campus Network and Server Outage Saturday, October 19, 2019

On Saturday, October 19, 2019 approximately between 7:00 am and 10:00am, Technology Support Services will be having some work completed to update and improve the electrical supply panel which will require a complete shutdown of all servers. Completing this service will allow us to further implement new infrastructure to improve service and data access. During this period ALL on-campus network services, including the college website, will be unavailable. Reminders on this will be pushed to the listservs reminding faculty and staff of the advertised outage.
On campus:
If you are going to be on campus, there will be no service connectivity. Do not attempt to utilize any system or network service from on campus during these hours, as data loss may occur. VPN Services will not be available.
Off campus:
Email: faculty / staff can access email by logging into https://outlook.office365.com.
Email: students can access email by logging to https://gmail.com and entering their Shoreline email address and password.
Canvas: users can access Canvas by logging into https://shoreline.instructure.com.
Upon completion of the maintenance, faculty and staff will receive an email that services have been restored.

Classroom Support Services for Fall 2019

Classroom Support Services provides training on the AV system in your classroom and consultation on your ideas for ways to serve your students through the use of media technology tools. Media tools include Panopto for lecture capture, Zoom for web-based video conferencing, and academic video production services.

Microsoft Office 2019 – Coming to a system near you

Starting Monday, September 16, you may opt to install the latest version of the Microsoft Office desktop applications via Software Center a little early. This upgrade process is planned to be delivered to all systems automatically starting Friday, September 20th during the after-hours update and maintenance period. This has been scheduled during this period to minimize any disruption to normal operation.
One thing to note regarding the upgrade. Shortcuts. Any shortcuts on your desktop to Office applications will be removed and will not be replaced. Shortcuts located in your Taskbar will not be removed. These will need to be manually removed and have the updated application shortcuts added.
