Parking alert! Extra activity on campus Fri., March 23

Hazel Wolf K-12 is holding their annual auction in the #9000 Building and Main Dining room on Fri., March 23. The event starts at 5 p.m, but their set up will be in full swing by 2 p.m. Expect the parking lot south of the PUB and the #9000 building to be filled with a flurry of activity!

Board of Trustees Study Session & Regular Meeting Wed., March 21

The Board of Trustees will be holding its Regular Meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 4:30 PM. A Study Session is scheduled to precede the Regular Meeting at 3:00 PM. Both the Regular Meeting and the Study Session will take place in room 9208 (the “Quiet Dining Room”) in building 9000 (the “PUB”).

The Board will be taking action on “Tenure Considerations” at the March 21st Regular Meeting and a reception will immediately follow the action. All are welcome to attend. Please arrive in the “Quiet Dining Room” by 4:30 PM.

The meeting packet for the March 21st meeting will be posted as soon as possible.

Math Olympiad event on campus this Sat., March 10 – parking alert!

If you plan to be on campus this Sat., March 10, take note that 956 elementary and middle school mathletes and their teachers and parents will also be on campus for Shoreline Math Olympiad scheduled from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Set up begins at 6 am.

Be sure to leave extra time for parking and note that some facilities (PUB, gym, and #1100, 1500, #1700, #1800 classrooms) will be occupied during the event. Contact Suzanne Gugger or Amy Stapleton for details or if you want to come hand out medals as a college rep!

The competition is for 4-8th-grade students attending public and private schools in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. Students test in the morning and enjoy entertainment and awards in the gym starting at 12:30 p.m. Sponsored by Shoreline School District, Shoreline Public Schools Foundation, Shoreline Community College, and local businesses.

Opera Workshop Program awarded Community Project Grant from Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council

Shoreline’s Opera Workshop Program has been awarded a Community Project Grant from the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council for its upcoming Opera Workshop 2018.

The Grant funded the commission of a new opera by Seattle composer Bruce Monroe. Mr. Monroe is a well-known conductor and composer, with credentials at the Fifth Avenue Theater, Village Theater, Seattle Children’s Theater, New York Public Theater, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

The composer’s opera, Command Performance, will receive its world premiere as part of the performances for Opera Workshop 2018. Show dates are February 23, 24, and 25, 2018. Tickets can be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets.
