Quarterly fire alarm drill – Bldg 7000

Dear Colleague,

On Thursday, October 3rd starting at 5pm, Safety & Security (and Residential Life team) will be conducting a mandated quarterly fire alarm drill. This is for our on-campus housing residents.

Once everyone in building 7000 has been evacuated properly, they will be let back into the building.

Those who are leaving campus at 5pm, please be on the lookout for pedestrians evacuating to the front end of campus (as part of the fire drill).

If you have any questions about the fire alarm drill, please contact Safety & Security at X4633. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Edwin Lucero

Annual Fire Alarm Testing

Dear Colleague,

Safety & Security and Johnson Controls will be conducting a mandated annual fire alarm testing on Thursday, September 19th, 2019.

On Thursday, September 19th starting at 8 a.m., the fire alarm inspection team will be going building to building (Building 700, 1600, and 9000) to activate each individual fire alarm to inspect the horn signals and strobes. The alarm sound activation will only last a short few seconds and, once the technician is able to inspect the entire building, they will then shut off the alarm and return the system back to normal mode.

If you have any questions about the fire alarm testing, please contact Safety & Security at X4633. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Edwin Lucero
Director, Safety & Security & Emergency Management

Temporary road closure (for prep work & repaving)

Dear Colleague,

The road east of the 9000 building (the “PUB”) will be temporarily closed due to construction work and repaving. This will impact traffic entering from the east entrance (“East Gate”) heading north for the next eight days.

Schedule:
• Wednesday, September 4th – Sunday, September 8th: Roadway prep work.
• Monday, September 9th and Wednesday, September 11th: Repaving of the roadway.

I appreciate the community’s continued patience while we get this critical work completed. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Edwin Lucero
