PUB Parking Lot Unavailable Beginning Tuesday, May 8

Dear Colleague,

We have exciting news to share that construction on our new residence hall may begin earlier than expected! This means that some staff and student parking will need to be adjusted as construction takes place.

As of Tuesday, May 8, the PUB parking lot will be closed to all vehicles. Additional employee parking spaces have been established near Building 2900 and in the lot next to the West Gate on Innis Arden Way. While there is still plenty of parking capacity on campus, we encourage administrative exempt employees for whom walking is not a challenge to park in the farther-away spaces.

We understand that this construction project may present an inconvenience to some, and we will provide additional details to the campus community as they become available. If you have any questions about parking, please contact Edwin Lucero in Safety & Security (elucero@shoreline.edu) or me. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Stuart

Notice of Rulemaking Activity

Greetings,

Shoreline Community College is proposing the repeal of the following chapters in Washington Administrative Code:
-C
hapter 132G-160 (Admissions & Registration Procedures)
-Chapter 132G-300-010 (Grievance Procedure, Title IX)

These rules are being proposed for elimination based on existing College policy already in place which reflects model language for both areas of these operational procedures. -Chapter 132G-300-1010 (Grievance Procedure, Title IX)
May 11, 2018 at 2pm in the PUB Quiet Dining Room (9208)

Alternately, comments related to the proposed repeal of these rules may be submitted to sccrulemaking@shoreline.edu on or before May 11, 2018.

A message from President Roberts regarding the passing of Mary Kelemen, former Executive Director of Auxiliary and Logistical Support Services

Dear Colleague,

We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Mary Kelemen. Mary was a member of Shoreline Community College from 2000 through her retirement in July of 2015.

Linda Hilton, Mary’s spouse, shared the following with us.

“Mary Elizabeth Kelemen died April 14, 2018 of a cerebral hemorrhage in Seattle, Washington. She came to Washington State, from Michigan, to work as Director of the Shoreline Community College Bookstore. During her 15 years at Shoreline she assumed more responsibilities due to her extraordinary management and problem-solving skills.

Mary loved quilting, reading, cooking, and travel but nothing as much as her four children, Jennifer, Amy, David, Andy and her three grandchildren Allie, Oscar, and Isabelle—all of whom survive her, as well as her spouse Linda Hilton. She will be greatly missed.

At Mary’s request, there will be a private family service and the scattering of her ashes in the Pacific Ocean.”
