Personal Transformation and Travel to South Africa, PUB 9208, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This past summer, a group of students, led by Professor Ernest Johnson, experienced a 4-week summer program in Cape Town where they examined the social and cultural history of South Africa, and explored current efforts to create a democratic, multicultural nation.

During this session, the students will report on what they felt and what they heard from the people they met. They participated in many social events and historical lectures, including school visits, lectures by community leaders, and home-stays inside “Black” townships and homelands.

Join our interactive workshop on depression Wed., Feb. 3 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the PUB room 9102.

Everyone occasionally feels blue or sad. But these feelings are usually short-lived and pass within a couple of days. When you have depression, it interferes with daily life and causes pain for both you and those who care about you.

Join Counseling Services at our interactive workshop and learn more about how to recognize the signs and symptoms of depression for yourself or someone you care about.

Workshop is open to all and no RSVP needed.

BREATHE – continues Fri., Dec. 4 with even more fun, de-stressing activities. Events scheduled for Fri., Dec. 4 are as follows:

9 am – 1:50 pm – Badminton and Basketball in the Main Gym
11 am – 1 pm – Karaoke in the PUB 9102
11:30 am – 12:20 pm – Core Yoga in the Athletics bldg., 3025

Please encourage your students to take a break from studying and participate in any of the 
BREATHE activities offered December 2 – 4, 2015. New this quarter, we have a passport system – so pick up a passport at any activity, attend at least four activities and receive a prize at Counseling Services.

…and guess what – Shoreline Community College employees are encouraged to participate – so make sure you
BREATHE too!
