De-stress with BREATHE before finals events May 31-June 3

breathe_spring 2016It’s time to BREATHE and enjoy our quarterly campus pre-funk to finals week that’s all about stressing a little less!

Everyone – students and employees – are encouraged to participate and BREATHE. Make sure you pick up a passport at any BREATHE activity and you will have the opportunity to earn a fun prize.

Thanks so much to ALL of our campus partners, the schedule of events includes BREATHE activities all over campus! Events begin on Tuesday and wrap up on Friday. Please share the schedule with your students and co-workers.

And don’t forget as we prepare for finals and the end of the quarter – Just BREATHE!

BREATHE – March 4–11, 2016.

That’s right, BREATHE is now a whole week, with the majority of activities occurring on Thurs., March 10!

Activities for the week include:
3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and Playoffs at the Gym
Crafts and snacks in the Library
Yoga, Zumba and personal training at the Gym
Ping pong and Dodgeball at the Gym
Arts, crafts and healthy snacks in the Advising & Counseling Center
Paint a pet rock @ SCC Greenhouse (2400 building)
Free 15-minute massage for students at Advising & Counseling Center
Free snacks in FOSS – West Hallway
Ukulele and Stress Wall in PUB
Open swim and more at Helene Madison Pool

*Tips for Reducing or Controlling Stress and Test Taking Tips handouts available at Advising & Counseling Center. Please share the PDFs with students via Canvas and in the classroom or your department.

Encourage students to take a break and participate in any of the BREATHE activities offered March 4-11.  We have a passport system – so pick up a passport at any activity, attend at least four activities and receive a prize at Counseling Services.

…and guess what – Shoreline employees are encouraged to participate – so make sure you BREATHE too!

9 am – 1:50 pm – Badminton and Basketball in the Main Gym
11 am – 1 pm – Karaoke in the PUB 9102
11:30 am – 12:20 pm – Core Yoga in the Athletics bldg., 3025

Please encourage your students to take a break from studying and participate in any of the

BREATHE – continues with our biggest day Thurs., Dec. 3 with an amazing lineup of fun, de-stressing activities. Events scheduled for Thurs., Dec. 3 are as follows:

9 am – 4 pm – Healthy snacks, crafts and games in the Advising & Counseling Center, 5229
10:30 am – 1:30 pm – Table Tennis Tournament in the gym, 3014 (Sign Up!)
10:30 am – 1:30 pm – Cornhole in the gym, 3014
11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Games and ukuleles in the PUB
11:30 – 2:30 pm – Stress Wall, fun and games and sign up for Shoreline’s Community Read in the PUB
12 – 1 pm – Nature Walk, leave from the Greenhouse near the koi pond behind the 2400 bldg
12:30 – 2:30 pm – Henna Painting in the PUB 9201
12:35 – 1:25 pm – Zumba! in the gym, 3025
1:30 – 2:30 pm – Adopt & Paint a Pet Rock, in the Greenhouse behind the 2400 bldg
