We flipped the switch!

Flipping the switch.A version of the college website for phones is now live.

Just today we flipped a switch that checks if people are visiting our website on a phone. If so, they get prompted to select between continuing on to the regular site or the “mobile” site. A user’s preference will be saved for 30 days, but the option to go to the “full version” is always there.

Earlier today we notified users of our web content management system about this and let them know what it means for their work.

One thing it means, is that now we will be turning our attention to implementing the new version of our web content management system.

On Monday, hear speaker Janet Charnley discuss how a school becomes “truly green.” You will hear about the successes and challenges on the journey to becoming green, and ideas for advancing sustainability practices on your campus.

Tuesday through Friday  the group will watch films followed by a discussion.  “Chasing Ice” will be watched on Tuesday, Wednesday will be the film “Gaslands,” Thursday will be “Who killed the electric car,” and Friday will be “Avatar.”

Between the lines continues

Between the Lines is our quarterly book club that meets on Wednesdays.

This year the group is reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, which tells a riveting story about the life of Henrietta Lacks and her family and the “untold story of how her cells were taken without her knowledge and have become one the most important tools in medicine”.
