Dear Shoreline Staff,

I am writing with this week’s College update including a return-to-campus, general campus events and announcements, Federal COVID-19 Assistance, construction updates, and the inclement weather protocol.

Return to Campus/COVID-19 Communications

  • Note: these are being shared with staff as talking points on student questions they may be fielding.
  • Guidelines for sick students or employees.
  • Education staff (teachers, support staff, daycare workers) are eligible for the Pfizer booster shot if you have completed your initial series of the Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months ago. Moderna boosters are available for those with a high-risk medical condition and at least 6 months since completion of the original series of Moderna. See CDC for details.  Boosters are available at the Vaccine Clinic on campus.
  • Reminder to update your Zoom application to ensure full functionality of the software and lesson technical difficulties. Go to the download site to download Zoom Client for Meetings.
  • Masks are not required outdoors on campus unless at an event with 500+ people, but it is *recommended* that you wear a mask in any crowded outdoor setting when it is not feasible to distance from others, per the Secretary of Health’s Face Coverings – Statewide order.
  • ASK ME help is now available at 3 stations: 1000/Admin building, FOSS/5000 building (2nd floor), and the Library/4000 building.  If someone has forgotten their mask, send them to an ASK ME station.

The Foundation is hosting its 24th Annual Student Success Fundraiser on Nov 4th. It will be a virtual event that will be broadcast on YouTube.  As this is a virtual event, our success will be built on Sponsorships and funds raised at Impact Parties! What is an Impact Party you ask?  It is a live or virtual event that you host for a group of friends/family where you come together to watch the event and make donations live. We would love for you to host an Impact Party! To register for the event or to host an impact party please go to https://www.shoreline.edu/foundation/events/fundraiser-registration.aspx.

Federal COVID Assistance/Emergency Aid Application
The Fall Quarter 2021 Covid Assistance Emergency Aid Application is open.  To date, we have disbursed over $528,000 to 335 Fall Quarter 2021 registered students.  This assistance has enabled students to pay for tuition expenses, housing, food, and other financial needs.  Please spread the word to all students at Shoreline who are experiencing financial struggles to pay for tuition or other needs to submit an emergency aid application.  All students: domestic, international, ABE, ESL, CEO, Running Start students can submit an application at this time.  Also, students who were enrolled at Shoreline Community College any time during the pandemic and owe tuition or housing debt to the college, can submit an application and give Shoreline electronic permission to have their debt paid — up to $2165.00.
