Campus Updates 03/16/23

EVENTS AND NEWS

Hi folks- hope you are having a great week.

It has been another busy week on my end, but I have learned a ton. Last week we had (2) day-long meetings with the Appointment Review Committees and the board learned about the work and development of our tenured faculty. It was great to hear of the work faculty are doing inside and outside the classroom! This is a really impressive bunch and I felt privileged to be part of the conversation.

I was able to attend both the Shoreline Rotary and Chamber group meetings this week. It was great to meet the members, highlight exciting things happening at the college, and hopefully partner in the future for more opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.

I also had a follow-up meeting today with Ryan Takeya from Seagen. Seagen has been a wonderful partner to us with our Biotech/Advanced Manufacturing efforts and I am hoping to learn more about how we can support them and connect with other colleagues in the industry. Stay tuned.

Did I mention I went to the “Arabian Nights” production last week? What a fun performance! The set, costuming, and music were so well done. The house was packed on a Sunday, I kid you not. Speaking of the Arts, if you haven’t seen the “Shelter in Place” gallery presentation here in the Admin Building, please come by and take a look. The work is stunning. We have immense talent in this community!

Take good care!

Cheers,

Jack
