Board of trustees meeting on Wednesday

The Board of Trustees will be holding its Regular Meeting on Wednesday, March 19, at 4 p.m.  A Study Session is scheduled to precede the Regular Meeting at 3:30 p.m.

Presidential candidate accepts another position

Dennis Rome

Dr. Dennis Rome, a candidate for president at Shoreline Community, has withdrawn from consideration due to his acceptance of another position.

Rome currently serves as the Associate Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wis. There was no additional information about the position Rome accepted at the time of notification to Shoreline officials.

Rome’s withdrawal leaves three candidates under consideration, including:

  • Dr. Warren Brown, Executive Vice President for Instruction and Student Services at Seattle Central Community College. Brown is scheduled to interview on the Shoreline campus, Thursday, April 10.
  • Paula T. Langteau , Campus Dean and CEO at the University of Wisconsin-Marinette. Langteau is scheduled to interview at Shoreline on Monday, April 7.
  • Dr. Cheryl Roberts, President of Chemeketa Community College, in Salem, Ore. Roberts is scheduled to interview Friday, April 11.

Public forums are scheduled for 2:45-3:45 p.m. on each of the interview days, in the PUB cafeteria, on campus. The forums are open to the public.

Monday, March 17:

Last day of classes for spring quarter.

The Board will be holding a Special Meeting (with Chairs of Second-Year Appointment Review Committees) beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Board Room.

Tuesday, March 18:

Prep day, no classes.

Wednesday, March 19:

Final exams begin.

The Entitlement-Free Child: Raising a Confident and Responsible Child in a Me-Mine-Now World starts at 7 p.m. in the theater. Free for Co-op parents, $5 for general public.

Thursday, March 20:

Laurasian/Seattle Japanese Consulate will be on campus starting at 4 p.m.

Nursing graduation. Starts at 4 p.m. in the theater. Please join us in celebrating the students!

Friday, March 21:

Baseball takes on Yakima Valley in Yakima starting at 3 p.m. #GoPhins
